DESCRIPTION:This course is designed to educate the participants on the importance of their muscular system and give them the knowledge and tools to help them achieve this goal. Participants will learn the names and locations of muscles located throughout their body and will also learn a variety of ways to allow them to take care of these muscles.\nA majority of the course is devoted to the release of muscular tension by demonstrating how to position oneself on the cork blocks in order to allow one’s body weight and gravity to effortlessly release tension and knots (trigger points) in the muscles. DESCRIPTION:Runs through the month of November \nPentimento – A visible trace of earlier painting beneath a layer or layers of painting on a canvas. \nAnne Erlewine works from her studio in Ann Arbor\, Michigan. Anne’s paternal grandmother was a fine artist who encouraged Anne to develop her skills early on. Anne received a running scholarship at the University of Michigan where she studied art and writing. \nShe also studied intensive water color painting and figure drawing at Naropa Institute in Boulder\, Colorado\, during the Beat Generation reunion. \nAnne teaches at Fiddlehead Forest & Art Camp\, a partnership that she formed with Tara Habeck from the Ann Arbor Forest School where they combine nature walks and activities with art classes.

DESCRIPTION:Description of Event\n\n\n\n\nThis two-hour discussion invites participants to explore the deep presence of pagan and pre-Christian traditions woven into contemporary Christianity\, especially within Catholicism. Drawing on my recent three month pilgrimage through Spain\, France\, England\, and Ireland\, we will show how ancient sites\, rituals and symbols continue to echo through Christian practice today. Together\, we will consider:\n•How Catholic feast days and rituals carry echoes of older seasonal and fertility rites.\n•How sacred landscapes and holy wells bridge pagan reverence for nature with Christian devotion.\n•How saints such as Brigid and Mary Magdalene embody archetypes far older than Christianity.\n•How mystics like Saint Teresa of Avila absorbed and transformed pre-Christian wisdom into the Christian mystical path.\n\n\nJeremy “Sunny” Johnson-LeMieux has a lifelong interest in world culture\, religion and history. Raised Protestant he also attended Catholic Church and studied Peruvian Shamanism with his father. He is a Kriyaban through the Self Realization Fellowship and a yoga and meditation teacher through the Golden Lotus Yoga Teachers Association which was first taught at the Detroit Institute of Arts by Yogacharya Oliver Black. Sunny also studied Islamic mysticism and took the Shahada from a Palestinian Imam in 2019. He recently spent three months in Western Europe visiting ancient sites associated with local Pre-Christian customs\, the various goddesses\, female saints like Saint Teresa of Avila\, Mary Magdalene and Saint Brigid of Ireland. He is also a professional artist who was published in the UK in Rastafari HeART Books 1\, 2 and 3. He teaches figure art and art history at the Northville Art House and leads various lectures and workshops across Metro Detroit. I work with materials I create myself—handmade paper\,\nwatercolors\, and prints produced on a century-old press. Some of my paints\nare made by grinding my grandmother’s jewelry into pigment\, bringing a\npersonal history into each piece.
