DESCRIPTION:Join us for an intimate evening of original live music featuring award-winning songwriter David Hinske and veteran folk roots artist Lee Kitzman! \nDavid celebrates his eleventh album\, The Off Switch is Broken—just released after home-studio mastery—with soulful power pop/rock/folk originals\, complemented by Lee’s masterful fingerstyle guitar and Detroit-bred arrangements. \nCrazy Wisdom’s performance space offers a cozy\, intimate vibe for this special night. \nThere is no cover charge\, though artist tips and room donations are appreciated. \nDavid Hinske \nDavid Hinske is an award winning songwriter and has been performing live for over fifty years. He has released eleven albums of original music including ’The Off Switch is Broken’\, which will be available at upcoming performances. \nStarting at a tender single digit age\, this music maker learned his craft from beginner’s lessons\, schoolboy choirs\, and start up garage bands. His first professional gig happened when he was 18 and performed with the band ‘Jade’ at a high school dance. \nOver the last fifty plus years he has entertained audiences both as a solo performer and a band member in venues and living rooms across the United States ranging from Sebastopol\, California to Philadelphia\, Pennsylvania and many\, many places in between. In current times\, David’s performances mostly consist of his own material\, but occasionally stray into cover songs that might not sound immediately recognizable until the chorus. \nHaving survived the COVID years by equipping and learning to use a home recording studio\, David has now released eleven albums including two ‘professionally’ recorded\, one in Memphis\, Tennessee and one in Alamosa\, Colorado. One of his albums\, “The Official Record’ was awarded Album of the Year at the Southwest Indie Artist Awards and the song ‘Small Dark Bar’ received Best Rock Song off of that same album. \nDavid is a multi-instrumentalist and loves to spend hours on end in the studio refining and crafting his odd power pop/rock/folk music into quirky and layered three minute exposés. Sometimes straightforward\, sometimes obscure\, his lyrics make an audience ponder how in the heck his brain works. \nLee Kitzman \nLee Kitzman has been performing live since an early age. A product of the Detroit Public school system Music program. Settling into a Folk\, roots Music genre in the early 60’s. A songwriter/ recording artist\, you can find him at\nleekitzman.bandcamp.com. \nLee Kitzman started his musical journey at age 8. Trumpet was the first challenge. By 11 Lee could read Music so guitar became the next adventure. Self taught Lee began to follow early folk artist favoring fingerstyle players. High School found Lee with his own folk group. Performing for church youth groups High school gatherings. After High School\, Lee found himself on Wayne State University in downtown Detroit. There is where he found himself comfortable in the surrounding coffee houses and listening rooms of the area. At 30 time for a career. Fast forward 35 years\, Lee retires from I.B.E.W.
