DESCRIPTION:Come and enjoy the original and thought-provoking collage art of local artist Sophia Hanifi. Sophia Hanifi is an artist and educator living in Ann Arbor Michigan. She studied art at the University of Michigan where she received her BA in Fine Arts. \nArtist Statement: \nMy art making with collage reflects my love of surrealism. In my work I use paper doll elements combined with vintage and new papers\, colored pencil and other drawing materials. I enjoy the process collage entails; choosing materials by texture\, color and image and finding combinations that achieve resonance. Many of these pieces explore the theme of feminine agency.
